I am hardly an art expert, and this is my first time doing a critique:

The use of light and shadow is very effective creating an effective atmospheric work. The art on the wall along with the stone floors give this the sense of an old mansion.

While the skirt part of the dress may be a little unconvincing being too open, this can (wand will on my part) be forgiven as it serves 3 major purposes, it gives a required sense of flow and movement, a great view of the legs and shoes which again convey the movement (as well as simply being attractive) and it also (along with the lace sleeves) creates a certain vulnerability which is needed in the shot.

All in all I would say this is a very lovely piece of work... well done!

There are so many things to look at in this thoroughly charming piece.

What I like most is the overall atmosphere, the lighting, shadows, godrays and the old feel of the scene certainly create the feel of a period piece. I do get the impression that the lady has a sense of urgency about her.

The scenery itself is well chosen, all of the hanging pictures look suitable old and crooked. The dirt stained glass is a stroke of genius and the colour palette used really compliments the feel of the image.

I'm glad to see that the lady isn't some buxom helpless wench, she retains her elegance even in the face of what torments her so.

The only thing that detracts from the image seems to be the lack of lighting around the candles, a point light or two wouldn't have gone amiss.

Overall, I really like the piece. It reminds me of some of the old classic horror films.

Very well put together scene with an interesting setting, props, clever use of lights and volume... There are obviously quite a few possibilities as what could be happening here, where and why the character is in such a hurry... What impresses most is that you created this piece in such a way, that viewers can write their own story... Grand!

I am indeed humbled and even more motivated to up my game when I received high praise from an artist of your talent.  There are so many artists here that I admire, you being amongst the top, that I really just hope someday to move beyond simple craftsman to a real artist who has mastered the tools as you have.
